Not completely related to this, but the modern era of nitpicking these mediums and making them seem worse than they actually are is so annoying.
A lot of people sound insufferable and entitled AF just going by how they critique things.
I noticed this with the rise of content creators reacting and explaining videos.
People who know the source material want to show off in the comments about hints and spoilers about what’s to come instead of just letting people enjoy discovering it for themselves.
When adaptations do their own thing they grow fits about it disrespecting the source material even though the source material still exist and can be enjoyed on its own merits.
People forcing themselves to watch stuff they don’t care about(The Acolyte) then just end up hate watching to feed their troll viewers
