When they revealed the 2 sets of characters at sdcc. One team was the xmen. The ither had cable in the middle flanked by all themThey did?? WhereAnd I do like this theory because it was actually not fully revealed what caused everything to end up like that. Just sprinkles of the virus from Time fugitive episde. I'm at least 80% sure Apocalypse has to be returning him and Cable are just as intertwined as Sinister is to Cyc and Jean.

One Of The Last Real Ones To Do It
Looking at the episodes they may not retcon this until season 2. Lowkey it would be really interesting if they took things getting really bad maybe leading to a mix of E for Extinction and Utopia existing and a finale being a version of Bastion’s Second Coming attack on Utopia.
Then Cable trying to retcon all of that could take them into the age of apocalypse for a few episodes.

Invincible knows how to handle a baby in danger just for starters.
Invincible did what is supposed to happen.
