we havent had a champ on tv since wrestlemania, and the rock carried the title for a few months, while being on a limited schedule.. why cant brock do the same thing? the fact is, nothing else makes since for brock other than carrying the title

I feel you but Bryan was at least on television. The Rock example is better but Rock worked the Elimination Chamber and made his sporadic appearances. Lesnar won after Wrestlemania and hasn't been seen since. I mean if Brock won it at the Rumble, and they did the same with Rock, I would understand. Also, to be clear, I don't mind the Lesnar win at Summerslam match, I'm just trying to figure out how they make it work.

Props to Randy Orton for working through injuries like a boss again, sick RKO too

Cool PPV brehs when it comes to Cena :manny: WWE is a wrestling promotion as well as a public family friendly company and I think THAT is where the fan conflict comes in. Cena represents WWE's recent gains in sanitizing their image as well as legitimizing itself to a country that despite the size and global reach of the WWE still looks down on. If Roman or whoever takes the reigns (heh) from Cena in the future, barring a societal and cultural change in television programming you may expect more of the same. The next face of the WWE most likely will be molded to be a moral fighting character to cover different audiences and promote WWE positively. Take a look at Vince Sr. and Jr.'s WWE: Sammartino, Backlund, Hogan, Hart, HBK, and Cena.

Austin and Rock are the exceptions, not the rule.

Cena winning makes the PPV a 40 degree day show. Nothing to get mad or excited about. :ehh:

This is the most slept on statement EVER...... The IWC and people that watched the attitude era do not understand this.. Every opinion we have is always based on the fact that the tweener bad ass, got over crazy at one point... But we dont realize is vince had never done that before and at his age and what he is trying to do with the worlds outlook on wwe, he has to gain a larger loyal fan base before they can try something risky..but at the same time they need to figure out how to equate what the crowd reacts to and ways to make money off it... this conflict will always exist because you cant forget or ignore the fact that the attitude era took the company to the next level and kinda broke that 4th wall with wrestlers being characters, people want to cheer the good guy but that term is so subjective now, that its hard to figure out how to create a universally accepted face.

As much as I hate Cena winning I guess it makes sense. I was rooting for Orton but Rollins can't cash the MITB against him now can he. A face had to go over...Reigns needs more buildup...Cesaro isnt anywhere close to ready... Sheamus sucks and CM Punk isnt walking thru that door. A split would have been a much welcomed comprimise but I dont think the WWE wants to split the belts.
