There's a reason we are among the most respected franchises in the league. It's only one person in charge here, Riley didn't let LeBron and his camp run amuck while he was here, so you know damn well he isn't about to let Whiteside call the shots. I haven't always agreed with their methods, but nobody's done more for Whiteside's development as a basketball player than this organization and coaching staff. I'm not saying he "owes" them anything because of that, but you eat who you starved with. It's a lot of posturing going on now but I'm not gonna lie some of the comments yesterday turned me off a little bit, yea I know "Its a business" but he just dont sound like a Heat guy. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching his development as a player but if we've reached the end of the road so be it

We had prime Wade. The team doesn't have someone who can average 26-30 a night with a lot of rebounds and assists on super high efficiency right now. They can't afford to lose him for nothing. We already may lose Deng in free agency, and I'd be surprised if we see Bosh back since the blood clots seem to be a recurring issue.

Prime Wade is worth 3 Dragic-tier players though. Dragic isn't even better than a 35 year old Wade

They'd resemble the 2014-15 team. Second worst in the league in 3 point shooting and dead last in rebounding most of the year. Finished 8 games under .500. This years team when Whiteside wasn't in had a layup line when on defense.

We're not gonna really have much leverage for the decent FAs unless you wanna lock up other big contracts and getting some middle of the road pickup is just gonna put us in extra treadmill status.

We haven't got many assets, if any beyond Winslow. We have a chance to get off the treadmill if we play it right with Whiteside though.
