For some reason Wu doesn't get the credit they deserve for their group album efforts. Their first 3 consists of 2 classics (36 Chambers and Forever) and 1 really, really dope, near classic (The W). That's good considering they only have 6 albums, and the other 3 albums having some high points also. I guess alot of people were expecting a classic everytime out because they have an all time great producer and also several legendary, talented MCs (Ghost, Rae, Meth, GZA, Deck).

Iron Flag is really good too. Very soulful. Def has classic tracks.

Can you find a more melancholy, but dope, song from the Clan?

They threw burners in our babies' faces
Pale hands that looked scary touched our bodies in the strangest places
Sweat from the white man's head
Fell on our daughters as she cried, giving white man head, almighty
Alrighty, nikkas is screwing
God won't you tell me why these ho nikkas is screwing?
I'm sorry father, sacrifice me, leave me wife
Sacrifice me twice, so my kids can see paradise...

It's good that they added club joints to their mix.

Rza created this song with Aaliyah in mind (for the hook and in the video), but she turned them down. Rumor has it that Timberland and her peoples convinced her it wasnt a good idea because the WU was yesterday's news at the time. Aaliyah being on GP would have changed the whole complexion and quality of the song, no doubt. I still like it tho.
I guess that explain's U-God's random ass cameo in the I Miss U video :ld:

Gravel Pit is a fukkin banger. Everybody killed it... and at that time I might've argued that Ghostface was the GOAT whether or not the nikkas raps made sense to me or not :russ:

The W was a dope fukkin album. Iron Flag was the first official Wu disappointment for me.
Gravel Pit, Careful, Hollow Bones :whew:, Redbull :whew: (Redman kills this), Let My nikkas Live :whew:, The Monument :whew:

:whew: man... don't take this album for granted.

And the saddest part is that RZA is so artistically progressive that he would never put them beats on Clan albums/projects. He doesn't like to revisit the sound of the previous album he did. Forever didn't sound like 36, The W didn't sound like Forever, etc. I like A Better Tomorrow but imagine if last year RZA opened up those vaults and had the Clan rhyming over those scrapped Wu Forever beats? :whew:

I say this all of the time when people say they want "classic Wu". None of their albums sound anything alike. Hell, it's hard enough to find to solo albums that sound alike - including Cuban Linx 1 and 2.
