I couldve swore Ghost said he never met biggie. I remember an interview back when that 3 bricks song with biggie drop

I bumped into him. I believe it was at L.A. Live and I think Brandy might've had a show that night and we came in there late," recalls the Wu-Tang rapper. "The whole clan was late—me, Rae, Cap, U-God and some other members—and I seen B.I.G. and his man standing against the bar. I just slid to him because I had thought about doing so a while ago. My intention was just to clear the air and make some music, you know what I mean? That was my intention, so when I seen him I went over and said peace to him and gave him a pound."
Reminiscing on the rest of the encounter with B.I.G. at the club, Ghost recalls, "Up close he was taller than what I thought. [Laughs] It was awkward 'cause we never spoke, but to be right there at that moment was crazy. He just stood above me. We both said peace to each other and things got quiet."

Unfortunately that was the first and last time Ghostface Killah got a chance to meet the late Notorious B.I.G., as days after their meeting, Biggie was tragically killed in Los Angeles. "That shyt broke my heart, it really broke my heart," says Ghost. "I think I might've felt his death more than 2Pac's death. Maybe because he was so much closer to us, being from New York and all that. I don't know what it was, but it was something about his passing that affected me. He was great.

thats what i mean... they never met back then during the shark nikkahs skit... The basically turned the shark nikkah skit into a scene..

I havent watched the episode yet... but that could be just an artistic portrayal of that song...

Ghost and Rae said used to see each other all of the time, though. And messages got passed along through mutual acquaintances.

There's a whole Wu-Tang doc called of Mics and Men if y'all want nostalgic studio sessions and all that. Let this show cook! This ep was good...but I enjoyed the ODB episode more! Maybe cuz I'm an "old head" I understand the blaxploitation motif better, but ODB 2nd album was on the same vibe. I hated that album and only listened once btw. I need to watch this again. I totally missed the part where y'all confusing Charli Bmore and Lil Kim. The callbacks to the NY dudes that were at the top of the game at the time was dope. Somebody must owe a favor to the agent of the cat that played Nas cuz....Whaaaat??? Thought they'd treat Esco with respect since he BODIED his verse on OBFCL lol.
I remember when I 1st copped the Purple Tape. Summer 95 I spent in basic training at Fort Jackson. Got to AIT in GA where we had a lil more freedom and I was catching up on everything I missed in the world the past couple months. We got to have radios and CD players so I was in the PX looking to renew my music rotation. I'm in the hip hop tape section (Word!) and I see the Purple joint with Rae guest starring Tony Starks. In my mind I was like "word this nikka gotta solo joint?" Cuz I didn't see it. He seemed like a group type nikka. I'm holding the tape in my hand tryna make a decision cuz I was unsure on Rae at the time. I never talk out loud by myself. Ever. For some reason I say "I wonder how this shyt sound"? Some country dude that I didn't realize was standing there says "That shyt tight as hell, daaawwg". So I copped. And couldn't stop playing that shyt for years. NO skips. Completely shyt on Tical which I feel is hot garbage to this day. Shout out to country dude wherever you are! I mighta got on this late if not for you!

Love how they wrote Cap into the script and add his real life situation into the story line (He was working security when U-God told the Clan to get him for "Ice Cream").

Also why wasnt Johnny Blaze in this ep?, he was all over 'The Purple Tape' as well :jbhmm:

Not the biggest fan of the episode but I did like all the easter eggs. I didn't even catch the blue and cream clarks from glaciers of ice on first watch
