I didn't like uncontrolled substance, I was very excited for it, got it the day it came out after only hearing Rec Room and the first single he had on BET...but what a let down on all fronts. Deck was my favorite in the Wu up to that point, after that it's been ghost and ghost ever since.

Pretty much my experience.
97-98 Deck was between Triumph, Above The Clouds and Tru Master. The potential that he showed was crazy.
Sidenote: Premier recently saying he got talked out of putting Rae and Ghost on Above The Clouds by his mans and got Deck instead, blew my mind.

whoever told Preem that deserves all the credit. Deck absolutely bodied that. Poor Guru, Deck took no prisoners on that one.
It just took him a while to find his voice as an artist. He could've definitely used RZA for that. Deck is a 70s Soul rapper, similar to Ghost, but with a little more edge. Cynthia's Son is a best showcase of Deck as a soloist, and perhaps his best work in his career. It's probably because he was so focused since the project was so personal. He had another dope mixtape but I don't know the name. I listened to it all of the time though.Do you guys think that Deck is just better as part of a group? He bodies every verse on a song with other artists, maybe solo records just aren't for him.

I'm shocked they didn't go the book route. In Rae and U God's books, they said he found out on tour about the shooting, but the guy involved was a friend of Ghost's. Their books explained the clicks they had prior to Wu and sometimes on the Road. Gza and Masta killa were close. One thing Rae and U God made very clear is that absolutely no one fukked with Ghost prior to Wutang because every time they saw him, he was either robbing or shooting/stabbing someoneI always thought there was some BTS/undercover story on why the Rae/Biggie beef started
Some industry shyt, gossip, whatever
But apparently Rae was just hating for no reason other than every car was blasting One More Chance (The Remix as Shurrie so eloquently put it)
Dope ep. I liked U-God's evolution. He got locked up right before 36 chambers came out on some I got to eat shyt (not thinking long term)
He came home when Wu was blowing up and was slighted (Look at the answers you give!)
Then his son gets shot and he has every right and reason to go psycho. But he took heed to Power's advice and thought long term.
Next week the making of OB4CL...Will it be Escobar season?
u don't think Tical was dope????He might have the same problem as meth. dope with other artist, but not so much on a solo album.
nah he's doing right. Keeping it for himself. Why give it to a museum so the kkkrakker can make bread off charging people to come in and view it?thanks for sharing this.
DJ premier should keep these disks in a vault somewhere and sell em to a museum. Really iconic stuff that people in the next decade will marvel over.
