They should have mentioned the St Ides commercial they did in between all of this.

This was my favorite episode of the strength of the last 10min.

This was my childhood. I clearly remember the Wu grimey shyt blasting and then biggie and Puff coming with the player shyt and winning. Street nikkas couldn’t even front on it cause BIG had flow and lyrics.

I remember 1st time I ever met Rae he was standing in front a pizza shop chilling, this had to be 96 about a year after OB4CL dropped. He had a brand new burgundy Lexus Coupe. He was mad cool, I dapped him up, thanked him for blessing us with the album, told him he was shining out here and he said “I shine everywhere son!!”

Back then that’s how you knew shyt was hot in the streets. You heard what everyone was playing in their cars as they drove past.

Funny thing later that year I clearly remember being in Harlem and hearing damn near every car playing Master P “Bout it Bout it”.

Miss those days of regional hiphop sounds but all the shyt being dope.

That Purple Tape though, that was some different shyt. They made a sonic masterpiece that was an audio movie.

These dudes had stores selling 2 tone Clarks in the windows. So much slang and style came from that album that is ingrained in our culture.

On another note the Wu member I saw the most was ODB. That dude was all over the tri state all the damn time. I’ve seen dude at least 10 times in the streets and clubs.

Saw him randomly at Jones Beach.

Saw him standing up in a sunroof screaming on the west side highway.

Saw him run thru the crowd and jump on stage during Busta Rhymes performance at the palladium. Him and Rampage almost fought on stage, Rampage and ODB had beef.

Saw him at the Puerto Rican day parade just chilling.

Good times.

1000%.. In interviews some clan members said that dirty was actually the glue that kept the group together within those first few years with his antics and humor and you can kinda see that play out in the show.. he was always clowning around but you can see that the clan members loved him and respected him..

ghost, meth, and rae have intense personalities on the show, but even they crack jokes and kick it with odb, and when they get into confrontations, a lot of times its dirty who would crack a joke and lighten up the mood.. I love dirty, but he didn't write his own rhymes, was always getting in trouble, and as the show stated didn't even remember his rhymes during live performances :russ: so I always wondered why the other clan members love him so much considering their personalities, but after watching this show I get it!

I love this show. I’m watching it and trying to imagine how I’d be if i was in the group. Dirty would be the type of nikka I HATE based on our personalities. I like order and consistency.

RZA is a saint for getting all these people to work together.

I’d probably be closer to U-God or Deck but one thing is for damn certain i’m taking that solo opportunity on the soundtrack.
