I don't think he's worried about the backlash from them. They been brothers for like 30 years at this point. He expects it. And let's not act like this has always been the most harmonious group in the world. I like the album a lot but I do recognize in a group setting, there is a need to get input from everyone and that way they feel more ownership of it. It's one thing to tell dudes in their 20s with nothing to lose and everything to gain what they're going to do and how but it's another to do that with successful 40 year olds. He's in a pickle

I haven't heard the album. But one thing I know is, good beats are all MC's really care about when making albums. And the stuff Rza has cooked up lately isn't good. Hopefully I like the album. But I didn't like The Man With The Iron Fists live sound feel at all.

At this point these nikkas need to try and find a way to make an album with Mathematics and 4th beats.

Maybe everyone can be happen afterwards because seeing all this negativity towards the Wu has me like :mjcry:

I don't care about critic negativity because not everyone is going to like everything. Plus it's not my project, I don't make a dime off of it. What I do care about is the inside stuff

True but the negativity is not just from music critics at this point.

Fans on social media and dudes within the Clan are saying shyt that has me like

So you haven't heard it and you're going off of reviews and other people? Dude listen to the album for yourself then we can have an honest discussion about it. The album isn't bad at all and most of the beats are on point if not all. The problem is, RZA wants to captain kirk the ship and while that's all good, you gotta let grown men have their opinion to and that's not how he operates and never has been. None of them heard 36 Chambers until it came out

Ah see I'm not reading Twitter at all and dudes within the clan are always dudes within the clan. They been talking shyt about the project since 2011. That's what bugs me out.

I'm holding out until my CD arrives hard as it is. But I'm a Wu Tang aficionado. The Rza contempt on my end has been brewing as far back as the late 90's. I've given him more chances and copped more pleas on his behalf than any artist ever. And for most of that time he would occasionally redeem himself with some legitimately dope music in between the trash. But these last few years he's completely lost his edge altogether. Beats. Rhymes. All been bad.

If i like the album i will proudly state so. If i don't, i know it'll be Rza's fault.

I guess no one really knows how the album came together so its hard to judge...cant believe Meth put that on IG tho damn...

The disappointing thing about this is that it completely overshadows the music. People will just shyt on the album, because WU members are actually shytting on it too. It creates a monkey-see monkey-do attitude

8 Diagrams was aborted on a critical level before people even had the chance to hear it, they almost got the album out this time without any bullshyt or drama

He said it at their press conference at WB though breh. He said this is RZA's album lol. He was very open about that fact

I feel you breh. I don't think he's lost his edge beat wise at all but his idea of where the group should be going is not the same as the groups and that's a problem for any group

But in a sense, he sort of has to if there's gonna be any sort of work. Ghost seems disinterested in Wu projects. We're still waiting on Crystal Meth..hell he averages 4+ yrs in between albums...FILA been coming for about for 3 years now, still no Dark Matter, the Rebellion. And Wu-Massacre was a disaster musically and critically.

Question - Does anyone think that the internet age only makes public what has always existed? For years they said they they never heard albums or the finished tracks until the project was released. They've always said RZA did this or that. Rae shytted on Bobby Digital he was the only dude not on it, I think. We've known about the in-fighting since forever, rumors of a breakup since The Show, then the Rage Against the Machine tour in '97. Dudes have forever not shown up for videos, magazine shoots, tour dates, TV appearances. How many times have you seen the full Clan live? And it's not even RZA all of the time. They've called out each other numerous times.

I think they'll always be together but there will always be this. They've been together 30+ now but will always be Wu. They're not really New Edition, Jodeci, Temps or those other R&B groups. They're not like The Beatles entirely...they are what they are. The Clan, Sunz of Man, Dreddy, Timbo, Power, Killarmy..that's what's left.

Its funny how people want to conveniently remove RZA from the equation

Every Clan members biggest and most successful albums were overseen by RZA.....most recently Supreme Clientele, Cuban Linx 2 and No Said Date....Fishscale was a hit, but Ghost working with Pete Rock and DOOM got the underground heads back on deck

Deck and U-God followup albums...who cares....everything Cappa did since the Pillage...who cares.....theres a thread on here every month about how disappointing Method Man's career was....GZA catalog after LS is ehhh....

There is no Wu-Tang without RZA overseeing it, he created a sound (actually many sounds) that the Disciples, Bronze Naz and them are STILL running with, but hes moved on I guess

I know we all wanted a straight grimey album all the way through, but I cant trust any of the other members to individually Executive Produce the joint, and with all the egos, someone has to take charge and put up some $$$ or nothing will come to fruit :yeshrug:
