Personally, I think that the direction they move with Hangman, post-AEW title/closed story arc, is going to be more of a sight to see than whatever's happening with the title or interim title right now.

I have enjoyed the matches he has had thus far. But I primarily watch wrestling for wrestling, not for soap opera drama.

It's crazy because I felt they were building him up well as a main eventer and then they just dropped him after losing the title. I think the only time I remember seeing him was with that dead group dark order and was wearing that hideous tie dye shirt.

Punk doesn't have a long term injury. So, any feud that Moxley get in would only serve to get talent buried and not properly build them up. Having a long winded program and job out a dude in two weeks does no good.

Moxley doing that "Fighting Champion" run doesn't hurt anyone and builds him up for the eventual Punk feud.

Yup…should’ve just put the belt on the Ace and kept it moving. Cause now we’re about to get fukking Mox/Jericho at All Out…:trash:

I'd agree normally, however because of the timing (Tanahashi is in the G1) and the rash of injuries, I don't blame TK for putting it on someone who can appear regularly on tv.

I think the point of all these random singles matches and title defenses for Mox is Tony wanting to give him Ws on TV so he's seen strong and protected once he finally faces Punk and most likely loses that match. I guess the idea is for no one else to have a program for the title until Punk comes back?

PPV is 6 weeks away too so we'll find out if Punk will be cleared soon, as one would think that's a program that should have at least a month of build before All Out.

Other reason could be to make up for Mox becoming champ 2-3 weeks before COVID shut everything down and giving him a chance to hold a title while there are fans in the arena.
