Never really seen that part of black Chicago.
Contrast that against a photo of Easter Sunday taken at my family's church around the same time period and probably a stone's throw away from where these slum photos were taken......
Fast forward, went to pick up my grandparents this past Sunday at this same church and was greeted by this outside.
Never seen anything like this before.
Back in the day, this neighborhood was where the "fashionable negroes" lived.
Now it's colloquially known as "Murder Row" and where Chief Keef grew up.
The most tripped out thing was this striking juxtaposition of the black people outside the walls of that church and the black people that are inside.
It wasn't until this moment that I realized that you can have black people right next to each other but be so socially removed, that the one is totally oblivious of the other.
Folks be talking about we need more blacks with money to move back to the black community....Tripped out part is blacks with money are already there. Ya'll just don't know it. And they want to keep it that way.

What folks don't realize is that every big city has nice and areas and bad areas. Even Baltimore has rich neighborhoods with next to no crime. Yes, Baltimore. And the irony is that these top ten dangerous cities are usually chocolate cities that are run by black folks and have better opportunities for black owned businesses and have black middle class areas.
The crime rate of an entire big city is based on a citywide average. If your city has more hood areas than middle class and wealthy areas, the overall crime rate for the city will appear to be higher. The only reason Baltimore has a higher overall crime rate than Chicago is that Baltimore has less middle class and rich areas compared to the world class city of Chicago where the low crime rates of the middle class and rich areas offset the high crime rates of the Southside. If Southside Chicago were an independent city, it would probably have a higher crime rate than Baltimore.
The difference between Baltimore and Chicago is that Chicago is a world class city and Baltimore is a second tier ghetto city. But the hood is bad in every city, and if it's not, it's only not that bad anymore because of gentrification. And saying that Chicago hoods are not as dangerous as Baltimore hoods is a fukking lie because both hoods in both cities have the same problems, stupid. Looking at numbers doesn't mean shyt on some level. If you living in a hood with constant gun violence and killing it don't matter what city it is.
Why do you think street level rap music emerged from so many otherwise unknown places back in the 90's? Places that never made a top ten most dangerous cities list. Snoop didn't have to bust out LBC stats for you to know they was active out there. Pimp C didn't have to write city data raps for you to know it was mainey in Port Arthur.You can't go off of the overall crime stats for an entire city to know whether the entire city is fukking safe or not.
For instance, historically, San Francisco is a crappier place to live for black folks in terms of living in the hood than Oakland because most blacks in SF stay in the projects and SF projects are some of the worst rated on the country. SF even had a higher murder rate for blacks than Oakland for years until SF started tearing down some of the more infamous projects in Hunter Point, SF. Most murder in most big cities is black on black so studying the black murder rate is more telling of how bad a city is for black folks to live in.S.F. more deadly than Oakland for blacks?
There's a reason why San Francisco has had the worst case of black flight of any big city in America. But you wouldn't know any of that just looking at the overall crime rates of big cities. Stay woke.

Crime stats should only reflect neighborhoods. I think it’s retarded that they only reflect cities and this causes a lot of ignorant thinking.

No wonder the Murder Clearance Rate is 18%, with all that "snithin" going on. More likely the cops are "snitchin" on themselves with that 18%.

Most murders regardless of race or region are senseless. Just bc some rappers have chosen to make youtube videos about it...now the whole city of Chicago gotta take this fake rep of being a murder capital.
