I understand that cities like Memphis, New Orleans, Baltimore, St. Louis, Detroit are more dangerous per capita
But Chicago has a different brand of insouciance in regards to killing & gang banging, there is social media accounts dedicated to keeping track of
all the shooting & murders being committed, and its made local hitters nationwide celebrities in urban areas & i don't see that in other cities

I havent read through the thread, so sorry if I'm reposting....

But "Chicago" is merely a buzz from my research. The crime in Chicago, like many cities is heavily concentrated in a small area of the city, there is very little infrastructure, resources, access to employment and corruption from the city.

With that said, Chicago is a buzzword, because crime in the city has historical been dropping for over 20 years despite the facade that the media attempts to depict. I'll drop some links after I finish catching up....
