I remember reading that the money they lost from the first week of the shutdown was significantly more than what the writers were asking for.
They figure if they cave, it's a wrap for any leverage they'll have over the writers in the future. So they're gonna take the losses and make the writers hurt. Not sure if this would change if the actors also strike.

These fukkin greedy idiots doing more damage the longer they continue to not give in. With the amount of money they lost they coulda paid writers for the next several decades. Unbelievable. :scust:
