:manny: the loser in this is the knicks. lin is getting money, knicks waited to offer a deal

:snoop:They are both losers Lin wanted to be in new York and he wanted endorsements . He turned down 7 figure endorsement deals to try and wait till he reupped now that money gone. The Knicks make money hand over fist either way though we the second most valuable team in the nba . Yes we lost out on a player with potential but if Lin bombs out he's never getting that endorsement money back
Edit: its funny you can read a article where the guy said he wanted to be in new York and didn't care about the money and say the Knicks lost . He lost too

Yes because they were being fair and let him dictate his market value. He tries to use the argument because he hadn't actually presented the offer sheet to the Knicks he went and added more money cool but he pissed off dolan by trying to be greedy . for those few mil he turned down 7 figure endorsement deals to make more money with lucrative deals once he reupped. He lost mils too and the city he wanted to be in :beli:But hey he has no tax that's something .

They didn't make him an offer.

Do you ask a woman to go get hollered at by every other guy in the club just to test her market value? No. You make an offer.

They didn't make him an offer.

We matched the offer that he ORIGINALLY said he was gonna sign tho.

And then he went and got another contract...lol.

So all this "I honestly preferred NY" shyt is nonsense to save face because he-went-and-got-a-noth-er-con-tract.

Exactly. People, as in players, test the market. That's something players do. Never saw a franchise let a guy test the open market. If you want him, you sign him, then there's no worries.

My example was perfect. A chick telling you she wants to test the market is one thing. Why the hell would I suggest it though?

You must not follow sports they do it all the time in baseball , basketball etc . And the thing your missing is the Knicks chose to let him go the fans are complaining not the Knicks if they wanted him they could match it

Who is they? The teams or the players?

Players test the market. Franchises don't let players test the market. Not players they want anyway so at least we're in agreement there. The Knicks clearly didn't want him.

If said from the beginning, since Woodson was hired....they didn't want Lin back.

MSG is run the Dolan way.

The same amount as being in NYC ?? ? The only way he ever captures the value of linsanity again is to have the rockets in contention nor just putting up stats.

I haven't read the article, but the question that he needs to be asked is -

"Truthfully, why did you go back to renegotiate a larger deal with Houston?"

In some respects he is right, however he needs his fair share of blame aswell. The Knicks said they would match his deal with the Rockets and he went and added more bread.
