6'7 would get eaten alive against Kareem sky hook.

Nah, height is not more important than denying him positioning. He was so damn good at sealing his man to get inside position and Magic was always able to find him the second he was open. Draymond's physicality/strength to push him away and hands once he does catch the ball suits him well in this matchup. The Warriors are also the best in the league at swarming and helping off non shooters, would encourage him to pass the ball back out to the perimeter.

Kareem is going to have a lot more problems defensively than vice versa

You do know there was players bigger and stronger than green that couldn't push Kareem off his spot don't you.

No, I don't know that. Draymond's low center of gravity works in his favor. It's the same reason Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman were such effective post defenders despite being short.

And again, if you actually go and look at Kareem's play in 1987, you aren't seeing a guy that's about to average 30 in a playoff series. He didn't even average 20 against the Warriors of that period who were god awful defensively. He was not at that stage of his career anymore. That was far and away Magic Johnson's team, HE is the player people should be talking about the Warriors struggling to guard and I'd agree with them.

Ben Wallace post defense wasn't elite. He was a elite help defender and rebounder and shot blocker. Rasheed Wallace used to guard the opposing teams best post player.

How many elite offensive centers does green face? You sayin a guy that was getting worked over by Steven Adams and Tristan Thompson will shut down Kareem.

Ben was a tremendous m2m defender. I'm not sure what you mean by that

Sheed may have guarded more post players, but that doesn't make Wallace not great at it. Sheed was an excellent defender himself

Green faces a lot of elite offensive players, period. Nobody else in this league defends more attempts than he does. Teams try him in the post all of the time in order to exploit a mismatch and the result is just 36% shooting on the season. Cousins tried exploit him in at of the January matchup and he failed to do so.

Do Adams and Thompson operate in the post? Were they strong scoring contributors in their respective series? No, where they hurt the Warriors was on the offensive glass.

Get outplayed down low by Tristan Thompson but would shut down Kareem brehs.

You know how much your soul gotta burn that you upload videos to the thread 48 days after the last post? And 56 days after the NBA finals ended?

:laff:

1) Tristan wasn't close to Green's performance in the Finals and doesn't play at all like Kareem

2) I'm the one who made the video at the top, posted it here to get some views, cheap entertainment and maybe bump a thread after a long season where Draymond proved my point

Draymond Green is the product of a softer/smaller league. He'd be eaten alive had he come up in a different era, it was a different time back then and Kareem wasn't getting stopped by ANYONE which is why he's one of the greatest scorers of all time.

The goddamn disrespect on this forum for the OGs is on some other OTHER shyt sometimes but this really does trump most (no pun intended). This is some retarded, go back to school and repeat the 3rd grade type of stupid.

The only disrespect here is you saying Green is a product of a soft league.

You, like everyone else in this thread, did not read the premise of this thread. I am comparing Kareem on the best Lakers team to the current Warriors with Green. 1987 Kareem was not dominant, did not play like one of the GOAT scorers, and got stopped plenty of times. This is pure revisionist back in my day history.

I'm as appreciative of league history as anybody. It's just that Cap in '87 was not playing like a GOAT or what I would deem a generational superstar anymore.

:dahell:

He was fukkin 40.....

....that's my point

Kareem was old as fukk, no longer dominant, and an elite post defender in Green could guard that version of him who averaged just 17/6 & 19/6 in the RS/PS respectively.

The only people bringing up prime Cap is you guys and if you look at how this all started, on the first thread where the OP found that quote, you'll understand where I'm coming from.

The hype Kareem do NOT get always baffles me. I know he is respected and those who know know but God damn it the man is the HIGHEST scorer in the league ever with 6 rings...Do people realize what that means? He is arguably the GOAT
