plus not having to ask someone is it cool to take a vacation and have the freedom to make your own schedule is priceless

Anyone picking a small business is an idiot or just doesn't want the strings that come attached with earning far more money.

To qualify as a small business, there is actually a cap on the revenue your company must bring in. Might vary from country but from what I'm seeing it varies between 6 million USD (retail) and 28 million USD (construction).

When you start factoring in the number of employees you'd need to bring in that money along with overhead, you're going to be earning far less than the CEO of a company worth billions would earn every year.

Business owners have to kiss the ass of every client, customer, and supplier they do business with. Customer is always right is basically the ass kissing anthem for business owners.

Execs just have to kiss the ass of the owner or shareholders. who you may not even see for days or weeks at a time.

Tons of small businesses up for sale. Some even successful. Why would they sell, you ask? Maybe it has something to do with:

• Never being able to take a real vacation
• Being on the precipice of bankruptcy during any downturn
• Dealing with employees who could care less about your Company/Dream (it aint their career)
• Dealing with multiple bosses, whether it be vendors, customers, landlords, etc.
• Your succession plan is down to two options: Either your kids /family run the business or you can sell it. If neither happen, you could be left with nothing to show for it when you decide to walk away

This 'be your own boss' thing has gone WAY too far in the black community.
