minimum wage in san francisco is 10 dollars an hour. i know a lot of people that feel it's worth it because the limited opportunities to progress in comparison to living in the middle of nowhere. if you have any type of skill and work ethic chances are you won't be forced to make that low anyhow and can definitely sustain a pretty decent quality of life.
having travelled the world, you can live pretty good off just like 8-9 bucks a hour
