He's talking about non-cop mall security. Those guys with nothing on their utility belt except a flashlight and walkie talkie holster and have no legal authority to arrest or detain (citizen's arrest applies toward felony acts). Even JCPenney security can detain for misdemeanor larceny.

I don't walk around the mall dissing mall security. A man has pride and no need to knock someone who is already at the bottom.

Both are honorable jobs but I would probably choose mall security. You could start there and move up in to a better security job such as working for a casino.
