People bytch about every change for the most part, but I look at the results.

The latest major changes that come to mind are the Play-In Tournament and the NBA Cup. Purist cry about them, but the competitive spirit of the players has proven both to be good for the league. So from that perspective, fukk em and bring on the change

:blessed:

If baseball fans can move forward with major changes then basketball fans should be able to as well.
The funny thing to me is, the 82-game regular season has always been a marathon, and not a sprint, so you're going to have stages where teams naturally aren't at their best, going through the motions and are just trying to survive the next mile. Folks think regular seasons from past eras have been teams sprinting every single step of the way, when it's never been like that. They single out these bad, non-competitive regular season games as a reflection of this era, acting as if the same didn't occur 20, 30, 40+ years ago.

The Cup despite being a gimmick has actually brought more competitive play to the table, that otherwise wouldn't have existed, so despite it being a foreign concept, I really don't understand why people have a problem with it. These cats just hate anything that's new.
