nah ive been meaning to listen, saw a thread on it here. im gonna wait til i finish the rewatch. i didnt want to jump in yet because im so far ahead of them. ill drop some thoughts in that thread when i start listening

I think the only bad episode is 'Chasing It' from second half of season 6 - its a very odd episode that doesnt fit well into the show. curious how Michael / Steve will cover that episode
They not getting to the final season for like a year man. They go episode by episode they might have just started season 2. Episode 6, David Chase sent them random quotes from Sopranos characters about the pandemic. Check that out at least it's in the first 10 minutes. It's fukkin' hilarious! :mjlol:

The thing with Pie O My is whether Ralphie did or not is almost beside the point (although I think he did it, and Chase has nearly confirmed it in an interview), because Tony killing Ralphie was as much about Tracee the Bing stripper who Ralphie killed. There's even a shot at the end of the episode with Tony looking at a photo of her at the Bing. No doubt Tony has also shown a love an empathy with animals (way more than people) throughout the show, but it was inevitable that Tony was gonna take Ralphie out after the Tracee incident.

GOAT show :wow:

I miss it so much :mjcry:

I gotta say I hated the way Chis died. His character was the second male lead of the show, they should have given him a better arc. Maybe they should have written him going into witness protection and snitching and being on the run with Adriana. Still being an addict and just dying partly due to a random car accident was cheap.
On the initial watch I hated Tony and liked Chris but I'm in the middle of my second viewing I am seeing how much of a fukk up Chrs was and how good of a boss Tony was. I still like Chris better but the gap is way smaller. I guess my life during the first viewing I was in my 20s and related to him more, but now that I'm older with more responsibilities I relate to Tony more.

With every rewatch I grow to dislike Tony even more. The last three seasons it's clear that he's is a despicable piece of shyt. Dude tried to bring down anyone around him. Think of that scene with Janus when she is trying to deal with her anger issues and it looks like she's made some progress, then Tony purposely goads her to make her flip. This kinda sums up Tony. It's a crabs in a barrel mentality. If he can't change to be a better person or be happy then no one else can. Same with the way he was always fukking with Chrissy for being sober.

I disagree. Tony treated Artie better than anyone on the dhow. When Artie borrowed money and the French guy played him, he forgave the loan and had Furio deal with him. When Benny took advantage of His businesses, and Artie beat him up. Benny was going to hurt him and Tone did the best threat I ever seen.

Tony told Benny to chill if he wants to see his son born.
Also Tone liked Hugh, he respected him big time.

Tony is not only jealous and weak like that he is flat out evil. Watched the ep last night where Tony Blundetto is working on getting his massage therapist license and going to go into business with his Korean boss. Tony Blundetto while showing Tony Soprano his storefront space acknowledges Soprano is probably disappointed he went civilian instead of staying a gangster. Tony Soprano really doesn't say anything just leaves it hanging in the air. Blundetto self-destructs and totally fukks up his massage therapist opportunity with the Korean guy (the reason he did this is dumb, it seems the writers are suggesting he couldn't handle his most recent success properly, I dunno). After self-destructing Blundetto has to go to Tony Soprano hat in hand asking for the gangster opportunity tony Soprano had planned to give him from jump. Tony Soprano can barely control the glee he feels for his cousin and best friend being knocked back down so much to the point he has to do gangster shyt again. That's just really the worst kind of person.
Funny line, at the storefront a Korean young woman Blundetto is going to work with comes in. Blundetto, Soprano and Chrissy are all there checking her out. When she leaves Chrissy says, "Can you get me some of the Kung Pow Coochie?!" :mjlol:

Yeah, he and Chrissy basically tell the same joke about the dog groomers next door. lol
It was weird, he might have been annoying you but to beat the guy up was just so unnecessary. I guess they were trying to say he was kinda delirious from a lack of sleep or something. He spent the previous night out all night with the gangster crew had to work all day and then in the evening he was working on fixing up the storefront. I guess that gangster shyt just breeds a super violent streak.

Tony B had every right to beat him up. He did the Work. He used his contact with Tone to get everything going. Kim didn’t do shyt.

I always felt that the whole Tony B storyline felt a little undercooked. Even the way they handled him killing Phil's brother felt off. I dunno...i know the plan originally was to have Tony B survive into the final season, and possibly even be the main antagonist, so maybe they switched the story arc up and it led to things not feeling as well put together as usual.

I still enjoy the character and season 5 though. I just wish Feech was around longer. Dude was funny as fukk and brought that psycho Pesci energy.

Wow, I didn't know that. Makes sense, Blundetto seems really connected to the NY guys. Probably would have been better ending if they went that route.
Feech was a good character but it was a bit over the top how he was as far as being insubordinate toward Tony. He obviously didn't like Tony but he never really got into why.

Are you serious? Tony, Jackie and Sil robbed his card game. Got away with and became made while he went to jail for 20 years. Not to mention, he was good friends with Junior and sided with him on everything.

OK, it was fukkin' 20 years ago. Higher ups at the time decided Tony and them were showing initiative and were worth grooming. If he didn't like that he should have done something about it. Just being a passive/aggressive undermining douche was some half assed shyt on his part. Go all out or play your part my G.

Tony was his own worse enemy, and if he didn't kill off so many of his own soldiers because of his own mental n personal problems it wldnt have been so easy for Phil to murk his crew.

Go back n watch da capo dinner n count how mmay of those guys r still around by the last season.
yup
