I think you are making the error of conflating Hemingway's straightforward writing style with it being evidence of his having a limited vocabulary. Hemingway's grasp of the English vocabulary was obviously extensive and just because he refrained from peppering his writing with flowery language shouldn't lead one to assume he was lacking in that area.

Anyone who listens to liberal talk radio and such can find examples REPLETE with people insisting the rich need to "pay their fare share" as if 32% is somehow unfair. Flat taxation is easily the fairest system yet its automatically dismissed simply because people feel the rich need to pay for the entire tax burden of the federal government whilst the poor pay nothing. Meanwhile the debt explodes further and further into oblivion!

I will grant that a hack can also have a broad vocabulary and not be master of the english language, but I would strongly disagree that you can have a limited vocabulary and be considered a master of the English language

Exactly, the audacity of this frog to say getting a phd in English has nothing to do with vocabulary size. Hell as an English Phd candidate, he would be forced to learn the etymology and origin of the language, as well as analyze numerous novels and texts. There is no way one could do that and NOT aquire an impressive vocab. Meanwhile this so called "phd candidate" cant even string a few words together without using basic ass words and insults. Its laughable that this negro wants us to believe he is a candidate for anything other than the Obama shoe shining team.
