Im dismissive because of his ideas, not ideology, but considering that his political orientation is known for half-assed social and cognitive reasoning I can see how you could confuse the two.

hemingway is recognized as one of the greatest writers of his time, and his vocab was very sparing. i like to think it's the other way around: any hack can compile an impressive vocab, but only an accomplished writer can effectively use those words to weave a compelling body of work.

Yeah I have and I would describe it as minimalist style but that is different than saying hemmingway himself had a limited vocabulary

I will grant that a hack can also have a broad vocabulary and not be master of the english language, but I would strongly disagree that you can have a limited vocabulary and be considered a master of the English language

I don't recall Carson speaking out about the trillions of dollars that occured under the Bush presidencies. If I recall, dikk Cheney said deficits don't matter. Yes the deficit is a problem, but its a long term problem. When you're in a economic downturn, what are you going to do, slash spending, and institute austerity like they've done in Europe? That'll only lead to more economic contraction.

He doesn't actually try to rationally discuss anything unless he's on a podcast.
