The Mineapolis area has the largest population of Somali immagrants in the US. I never knew that til my lil sis moved up there.
Also for some reason all of the Hmong people immagrate there too. You have an idea that it's lilly white up there but there are whole African and Asian sections of the city, it's pretty cool.

Tons of section 8 housing and a great welfare system will explain why MN has huge Hmong and Somali populations. Minneapolis is far from lily white. Many of the suburbs are very white-washed but it's changing.

As far as the poster being "racist"... I can't even have a discussion with someone who actually thinks it's racist.

I remember a dude from sohh that was of Somalian descent that brought up some serious issues that was going on in Somalia which lead to some acting out and becoming pirates. Doubt that any of that would be in the movie.

Nah...I believe that major companies were doing a lot of illegal fishing in what was supposed to be exclusively for Somali fisherman, which messed up a lot of Somalian 's livelihoods....That's probably how it all started..

It's even worse than that. According to some of the crew members, Phillips had been advised multiple times to stay clear away from Somalian waters as their had been multiple pirate attacks in the area in the days before, but he ignored the warnings because it would add additional costs to their journey.
