I'm watching the movie right now. It's crazy how much resources the military committed to rescue Captain Phillips. I can't help but think what would have happened if Captain Phillips were black? Would they go through all of this trouble saving him?

Yes, They would have done the same thing if Captain Phillis was black. These military can't leave/ignore a bucnh of inncoent people (US Citzens) on the boat, They called them for "HELP" and they have to do their job.
