The adoptive dad was having an affair with the biological mom

That’s why the biological dad left
Or the biological mom was having an affair with a black dude and didn’t want her white husband to know. They would have never placed a white orphan with black people in the segregated south. Never!!

Her parent's were passing too or this woman is a genetic throwback to a black relative that passed for white.
Girl her ass was NOT passing back then or today. Never in her life was she passing. The white mom was creeping with a black dude. That’s why she was put up for adoption.

Your dreams

Sandra Laing
(born 1955) is a South African... was ... classified as coloured by authorities during the apartheid era, due to her skin colour and hair texture, although she was the child of at least three generations of white ancestors. At the age of 10, she was expelled from her all-white school, and the authorities' decisions based on her anomalous appearance disrupted her family and adult life.

Sandra Laing and children by black husband.

Sandra above had to live away from her parents as she didnt qualify to live in the white part...

I think the lady in the OP is indeed tge child of two white parents and her mother might have given her up so she could have an "easier" life as a black woman, rather than her try to, rightfully, claim white back in the day...

If people today are sayong she is black think of how white people would have treated her back then?
