-Employee: “Can I take your order” (In broken English and a thick ass accent)

-People in car: *Look at each other and start acting stupid. Mocking her lack of English and thick accent. Confusing and irritating the employee*

-Employee: *Now offended and tired of the bullshyt. She plays the game too and pretends that she doesn’t really know English* “I not going to serve you, Mamí. Salgan de aqui”.


-People in car: *Pulls up to window and starts recording* “You’re really not going to serve us!?”


-Employee: “I no speak-e English, Papi. No puedo”


I’m sure this is how it went down. I’m not giving these nikkas a pass and I doubt that the lady just out right didn’t want to serve them. A lot of y’all nikkas are quick to defend some dusty ass nikkas for there fukkery. Not me, though.

If you're not going to hold illegal and legals immigrants accountable to learning English, then how do you encourage assimilation so that our common bond is being proud Americans and not have pockets of isolated communities where members are easily taking advantage of each other

I'm conflicted here, going through multiple thoughts...

1. I'm not gone argue with some mofo to take my money unless it's something exceedingly rare & urgent(I.E. not tacobell). If we need something that bad it's on us to build it.
2. It's obvious the woman understood a rudimentary amount of English ...obviously enough to take an order like say "4 tacos", "quatro Tacos", Tacos quatro" something!!
3. What the fukk is gained by arguing with this woman that obviously either (doesn't want to serve or can't understand) you. All because you "don't understand" ....at a point it just becomes you venting
4. Some black folks feel so devoid of respect in the U.S. that they rather fight for a scrap of respect than worry about the "ass crack cheese" they would possibly put on her order if they took it

Did the service act in anyway different than what they promote and what the customer expect? yes

So the fault lies on the service, especially when it doesn't say that you need to know Spanish to take orders here. But the bigger fault lies in the skewed social justice efforts

To answer number 3 I don’t think most people expect to go to Taco Bell of all places and get refused service because they don’t speak another language, that’s some twilight zone shyt, shyt weirds me out at work half the Hispanic people talking to me can’t apeak English
These people are moving to this country in droves and don’t bother learning a lick of English. Idk any other country where people can just go to it and not have to learn the language. It’s alienating, and I work in dc, it’s at the point I’ve completely accepted these people are establishing themselves better than we give them credit for, you move to any country south of our border and can’t speak Spanish? You might have had a point if they were in a private space but these people were working in a public place of business, a chain restaurant at that, where most items are simplified by menu number and named in Spanish anyway.

She knew enough English to adamantly refuse service to this group of Black people. So why would she not just take their order?

And your point about the languages being native to the land is silly also. If I open a business in Egypt and only serve people speaking English instead of Arabic, it's ok because we're not speaking the same language that was spoken when the Pharaohs were alive and the pyramids were being built?

I hit up Taco Bell on Twitter about taking the cheesy potato burrito off the menu and they responded practically immediately. They have a very good customer service department so I'm sure this will be addressed

Their communities are not independent nations, they are part of the United States. And damn near all those business you speak of have whoever speaks the most English as the one interacting with customers, however little English they may speak. They know better than to turn away any paying customers.

Yeah, America has no official language but the lingua Franca is English. Not everyone has to speak it fully at the establishment but there has to be someone who can at all times. Your whole premise reflects what is allowed in places like NYC but you gonna tell me that the Chinatown places gonna have NO ONE that speaks English if you got an inspector or something?
