It's unfortunate, but hey. Every sport has its humble beginnings.

NBA Finals games were on TAPE DELAY into the 1980s.

NFL teams used to predominantly play in baseball fields until the 80s. And even then, few like the Raiders still played there into the 2010s.

its' been 25 years now. that sport obviously isn't catching on despite the likes of the NBA and ESPN constantly trying to shove it down everyone's throat.

they even got them in NBA 2K, and no one is playing that mode either.

why the NBA continues to throw good money after bad money for decades is beyond me.

Id have to look but I think that first decade or so was as popular as it ever got and that comets era was while it was peaking. Then it simmered down.

mid 90s with the comets, was legit the ONLY time I checked it out. but then again, it was a new league back then, and we had slim pickings of bball to watch in the summer time.

As a kid in the 90s it seemed like Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Cooper got mainstream recognition..shyt they may have been on the Wheaties box even.

Nowadays it's like who is known ..Sue Bird and who? Candace Parker?


And to be honest women playing a game like basketball doesn't look as appealing.

I mean a woman doing crossovers and tryna look like allen iverson ain't what's up.

What does their funding source have to do with anything? the facts are they’re still a young league, women’s sports on this country are never as popular or lucrative as the men’s, and that they still need to gain traction just like other leagues. The NBA’s money can’t do anything to solve those problems

So apparently the Phoenix Mercury and Vegas Aces gotta play their game 3 playoff game at some college cause Disney on Ice in town and clearly that's a more important event. Consolidate down to 6 teams to keep higher skilled players and better competition

Lower rims so we can get highlights and dunks

Add a 4 point line. Women shoot more so this will make jump shots more entertaining.

Get Sexier uniforms.
