Please google Toney vs Couture. Just please do it. Wlad would be on his back before his extends his arm

that fight isn't a good example, somebody can easily say watch Mercer V.s Sylvia

the singe leg take down he used on Tony was executed perfectly, but it could easily went bad for him if his timing was off

its about who gets off, can I boxer deliver the knockout blow before being taking down

and keep mind James Tony did not train any take down defensive or any MMA at all for that fight

It would be easier for a boxer to learn how to stop a single leg and evade a take down
then it would be for most mma fights to contend with the hands with a boxer, if they can't get the fight to the ground and keep it down
they have zero chance they will get knocked out

Yes it is. A high level collegiate wrestler vs a boxer. Thats a perfect example. Slyvia was primaryily a kickboxer so of course he was food. If this was JDS vs Wlad then sure. MMMA has striking involved while boxing doesn't have to contend with grappling. I don't care if Wlad had trained for months with high level Olympic wrestlers, Jones would take him down with ease. You can't change stance and balance after almost 40 years.

Didn't Jones just had to go to a Hospital fighting a swedish AMATEUR boxer with limited grappling experience, surely known on the collegiate or olympic levels
Jones could not take him down

and Wlad is huge, it will be hard to keep him on the ground even heavyweights

James Tony was in his best shape at MW, his a heavyweight because he's fat and he other old men or bums at that weight

Are you saying that Wlad can get in a cage and do the same thing? :comeon: Lets keep in mind that Jones was also injured in that fight

If he trained with Phil Davis yes he could, plus he's bigger and stronger than Jones, with longer reach

Jon Jones isn't a BJJ master, which I would think would be the only threat to someone like Wlad

So you are saying that if he trains for 6 months with Davis that overnight he would be a world class grappler with excellent take down defense? ok gotcha:hellyea:

I didn't say he would be a world class grappler, Jon Jones isn't a world class grappler, neither is Gus
what are you talking about

I'm saying he'd be able to stay up on his feet, which is all he needs to do to KO jones

So jones isn't a world class grappler now despite dominating black belts on the ground? A guy boxing for 20+ years is all of the sudden going to jump in a cage, stuff takedowns, and submit him? Stop posting now breh you look real fukking stupid

What blackbelts he dominate on the ground? The fact that he did proves my point, Jon Jones learned MMA in two years, and from watching youtube
and just because you have a blackbelt doesn't mean your world class

Ronda Rousey is a world class grappler, she has a fukking gold medal
guys who have won BJJ world titles are world class grapplers
what are you talking about

He manhandled Machida, size and strength matters, he would not be able to do that Wlad

Ok breh let me break it down for you. Wlad is 40 years old. 40. Not 22. Not 25. He is 40. He has been boxing for 20+ years. 20. Not 3 but 20. That means he been trained to fight a certain way. Stand a certain way. He will not overnight become a MMA fighter and get in a cage at the highest level and be successful. What don't you understand? :mindblown: Are you low key trolling? I think so.

you're right and Jon Jones has spent most of his life not training how to fight, or throw punches, which is why when he faced somebody the same size as him he was in a world of trouble even though he's the superior athlete

I didn't say Wald would become an MMA, he doesn't have to
all he have to do is practice stuffing the take down and to sprawl
if he has the right instruction he would be able to do this without a problem, this something a child can learn in a few weeks
also he can practice avoiding and keeping distance, also you can stop a take down with a well placed uppercut as their coming in for quick finish

And stop comparing fukking Rousey to Wlad. You know damn well grappling disciplines like Judo, wrestling, etc translate much better in MMA then pure boxing. Its evidence by all the type of champions currently dominating in the sport
