I just don't get how the wizards can justify paying wall significantly more than what rondo, steph, or jrue are getting on their deals
It's already been explained here.

It all depends on what the team is willing to pay & what that player means to that franchise...I don't think Wall is a max contract guy & I don't think you make that type of commitment to a player until you know exactly what you've got in a player. Wiz have been horrible, Wall's been streaky & injured, how has he earned the right to get a max contract?
By being the main thing worth a damn there. Look at Anthony Davis. He's about to be done with his first season and barring a major collapse in his talent he knows a max deal is coming without completely proving his worth.
this I agree with.I want to see him play better off the ball instead of just standing around.
But if you're the main thing on a franchise that has been terrible since you were drafted, what incentive would I as a GM have to give you the max? What if 30-35 wins is the ceiling on this current collection of players? How does a max contract affect how this team is constructed moving forward? Obviously those are questions the Wiz front office have to answer, but nothing I've seen from Wall indicates that hes worth a max contract especially if you're looking at how you're going to build that roster.
Well, you got to remember. When Ernie Grunfeld took over in 2003 for Michael Jordan, he went out and signed Gilbert Arenas away from Golden State. He gave him 6 years $66 million. The 2008 deal for $111 million over 6 years and giving Jamison $50 million over 4 years was
So, this isn't surprising.
The Wiz need stop with this build around a superstar who isn't even a star yet theory and look at what memphis and the nuggets did by building around good defense and getting a bunch of decent players that work hard, hustle and don't take up a huge amount of salary cap. Alot of teams fail by trying to find THE Guy and signed above average players to deals that come back to bite the team. Beal seems to be legit, just offer Wall 10 millish and if he takes it good if he doesn't just build around a good identity for the team.

Bruh, you don't know wtf you are even talking about.
Wizards have been at the top of the league in defense since Wall has returned.
So we are built around good defense. We have a bunch of decent players who work hard
shyt, Wizards will spank the ugly off Zach Randolphs chin
We got better players than you do, yup.. I said it. Gasol = Robin Lopez
You got rid of Gay... Tony Delk
Speaking from a looking to the future standpoint, Wizards are in a better position than Memphis by a wide margin.
Nowt only do we have superstars in Wall & Beal. We got Nene and Webster.
Ariza and Okafor. Booker and Singleton. Garrett Temple has earned an honorable mention as well. Then add in the lottery pick we'll have this summer
Then the salary cap space we'll have the year after that, and probably next year because any team would take on Okafor/Ariza's contract for the final year. Not saying I want them gone cuz I don't, but if something better came around teams would WANT to make that trade with us.
Because of all that, Wiz >>> Most other teams
