Breh I personally think it's an ego trip. For years all of the talk about ducking Pac, and not being as good as Pac probably did something to him esteem wise. I'm not entirely convinced Floyd's character is all that removed from who he really is. All that money talk, flashy lifestyle, smacks of someone who's self esteem is flimsy. I remember fans were booing after the first Maidana fight and Floyd looked kinda shocked/hurt that they didn't see the scoring the same way he did. That said, while Pac got some criticism for fighting Algieri, I think Floyd was watching and taking it personal, thinking to himself watch how they do me if I fight a C+ fighter. It's like he feels unfairly sh!tted on at times and then decides to do the ultimate fukk you by announcing a fight with Berto. Hence the following,

Floyd said he'll fight Berto or Mayfield next. I asked if he was kidding. He seemed to be serious. Said Pacquiao fought Algieri so why not?

Obviously he wasn't kidding.

This is basically just Floyd saying to the fans "I fought everybody you guys wanted me to fight, including the guy you claimed I was ducking for so many years. Now I'm gonna fight who I wanna fight"

I agree with all this but I'd add, I think this is also a fighter at the end of his career who feels done with the sport and just wants to get it over. He knows he's fighting a solid guy but not a guy who's going to push him to hard. I wouldn't doubt that he doesn't really want to fight in September but is just doing it to fulfill his contract obligations and get it over with. Tho I'm sure he'll fight again because in a year or so the money & the demand will just be too much to turn down, it's clear the love hasn't been there for dude for a long time. He was in interviews the night of the Pacquiao fight in his dressing room talking about how much he doesn't like boxing anymore.

Honestly I have no problem with the matchup based on all that he's accomplished but there's no way I'd pay for it on PPV. Should be on CBS for free.

Explain this Match up to me :mindblown:
floyd probably the only fighter out there right now that doesn't fight "stay busy" fights
every time he fights its for a title, (guerreo fight is the only one you can make a argument for cause the title was vacant, but even that was against a left handed fighter fresh out of jail who is bigger than him and hasn't lost in 7 years) its against a ranked opponent, and more times than not its against someone who out weighs him by 15 plus pounds on fight night.

and the scary part is, hes not even in his prime anymore
hasn't been for years
he has nothing left to prove anymore and he probably doesnt even care

i really woudlnt be surprised if he actually retired

i'm buying this ppv in HD just in case:wow:

You just can't help yourself using guerrero as an example...guerrero not losing in 7 years is nothing to write about if you've seen who he fought during that time lol

he was good
stop it
that long delay after the mayweather beating fukked up his career

no forgetting why he was called ghost in the first place fukked up his career..he skipped a couple divisions and became your typical mexican fighter but with reduced firepower...he took beatings before and especially after floyd at welterweight

I don't get it. :why: is mayweather getting all this flack? That pacquaio fight left a lot of nikkas mad. This fight will be way better than the pac fight. And yall paid $100 for that. Berto isn't a slouch and he will try his best. That's all we can ask for in a fighter.
