We got spoiled this year...we're usually lucky to get one game like The Witcher 3, TPP, or Fallout 4 in a year

Well.....thanks for your opinion. The combat was on point if you knew you were doing. No arcadey ass spamming attacks. And I give a thumbs up to any system that allows me to complement skills with other skills and give an advantage to anyone who takes the time to read the description of said skills and act accordingly, thereby making them effective killing machines. The builds were damn near endless. The ways to build your party were damn near endless. Anything can become a chore. It's your mindset. See my original comment in this thread. It was a big time killer. The gameplay (mainly combat) was very bad, the loot and equipment were trash, and the side-quests were never-ending. You can say a lot of the same things about The Witcher 3, but at least the combat was passable.
DA: Inquisition was a chore, but still a decent game mainly because of the story and growth of the characters...7.5/10
As for Mordor, it was overrated but it was still a decent game because the combat was satisfying...7/10
I've been sitting on Witcher 3 for a minute, still running through Witcher 2. Are both on the same level or is 3 that much better?
I'm enjoying my time with the Witcher but it has way too many technical issues for me to place it in the GOTY discussion.
Combat isn't all that great and trying to control your horse Roach!?
The amount of content the devs packed in is impressive though.
People are starvin this year too though. Its just an open world game every few months and not much elseMordor came out when people were starving (I know because I bought it for that reason) which is why I think it's overrated. I played it for a few hours, couldn't stomach it and sent it back. If it came out this quarter, it would have been shytted on so bad.
I guess.we're usually lucky to get one game like The Witcher 3, TPP, or Fallout 4 in a year
I guess.
Its not a perfect barometer but lets look at metacritic for the last 5 years years for games rated above 90. Removing games that appear twice(different platforms) or re-releases
2015 - mgs V,witcher 3,bloodborne. (Possibly fallout 4,halo and tomb raider)
2014 - dark souls 2, super smash bros, bayonetta 2,shovel knight,velocity 2x
2013 - gta v, last of us,bioshock infinite,rayman legends, super mario 3d world, fire embling awakening, zelda:link between worlds, spelunky,fez,dota 2,brothers a tale of 2 sons
2012 - walking dead, journey, xenoblade chronicles, mass effect 3, dishonored, borderlands 2, mark of the ninja, far cry 3, traisl evolution, xcom enemy unknown, guild wars 2, fifa 13,nba 2k13
2011 - batman:arkham city, skyrim, portal 2, zelda skyward sword, rayman origins, littlebigplanet 2,forza 4,uncharted 3, gears of war 3, nba 2k12,fifa 12, mlb the show, dead space 2, super mario 3d land, dues hx:HR, limbo, total war: shogun 2
Now,we could drop the cut off at 80 metacritic score, but honeslty it wouldnt change the pattern emerging.
And that pattern is clear, the further back you go,the more games their are. And,more importantly the more VARIETY.
So,your claim is totally off base. 2014/15 have been some of the worst years of gaming, ever.
Unless all you play is open world games and nothing else. Then hey!im sure youre please because that seems to be the most represented genre/style now.
