OK
:patrice:

I'm enjoying my time with the Witcher but it has way too many technical issues for me to place it in the GOTY discussion.
Combat isn't all that great and trying to control your horse Roach!? :scust:

The amount of content the devs packed in is impressive though.

The Witcher 3 is my game of the year so far. I still haven't gotten my hands on Phantom Pain yet and I'm greatly anticipating Fallout 4. I love the Witcher 3.....but by the time I'd gotten to the end of the story I was exhausted with it. I know how that must sound.....you just can't please people. And I don't know if anyone else felt that way so I couldn't say it's something they need to improve on. But I know I've never had that feeling playing an RPG.

I'm just glad we were blessed with so many high quality games this year
What's that rundown breh. I feel like I'm missing out. Off the top I only know of:

Witcher 3 - just beat
MGS V - never could get in to this series
Bloodborne - would piss me off
Batman - about to get back on since PC version is patched

But yea people love their WRPGs with avg gameplay

remember 2014? Mordor and Dragon Age, anyone still talkin bout them? :heh:
This.

Over rated genre. Games come up get hyped to the moon, then the next one comes out, they forget the old one exists, never mention it again except to acknowledge it wasnt that good. Rinse and repeat.

Mordor isn't a rpg. Regardless, I got bored with it towards the end same DAI and mmorpg style fetch quests.

Since XCOM 2 has been delayed till next year. Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and MGS V all stand a chance of being GOTY.

Dragon Age Inquisition was a great RPG. Yall are buggin.....
It was a big time killer. The gameplay (mainly combat) was very bad, the loot and equipment were trash, and the side-quests were never-ending. You can say a lot of the same things about The Witcher 3, but at least the combat was passable.

DA: Inquisition was a chore, but still a decent game mainly because of the story and growth of the characters...7.5/10

As for Mordor, it was overrated but it was still a decent game because the combat was satisfying...7/10

These are the top games of the year that he was most likely talking about. If Persona 5 really drops this year, it'll easily close out the top five.

So far those, among those 4, I like them almost nearly all on the same level as they all offer some things that others don't and just wildly different experiences, regardless of them all but Bloodborne being open-world games. My like for one over the other is so interchangeable it's difficult for me to say which one I truly enjoy the most, but overall, I think MGSV may top them all at this point it just cuz while it does a wealth of things, both within it's gameplay and lil easter egg shyts, series story building and under-the-hood workings like the dynamic AI adjusting to your playstyle, it may actually be the best Technical game of the 4 as well, as it performs outright better than all of them, whilst still doing a lot AND looking the best. The other games have some points of very noticeable, to drastically glaring glitches that mar the experience a bit, whereas I've yet to see much of anything of the sort with MGSV (tho I have read of that corrupt save file regarding Quiet on those two specific missions). Despite MGSV's technical marvel and its own fun-factor and lush style, I could see someone favoring any of other 3 games for what they do bring to the table in preference as well.

Mordor came out when people were starving (I know because I bought it for that reason) which is why I think it's overrated. I played it for a few hours, couldn't stomach it and sent it back. If it came out this quarter, it would have been shytted on so bad.
