well those are multiple creatures in the OP so they might need to see each other. the third creature is staring at the camera so it might be good to see intruders coming from the upper world down to their environment.

animals can hear and see things we cannot. even with computer technology there are creatures with abilities more powerful .

same concept as us not being as strong as bears or fast as cheetahs.

My line of thinking is that the ones we cannot see could be glowing on a level we cannot register. the same way we don't have gills to breathe underwater. those blue goggles those creatures have could see things beyond our ability to comprehend.
