Deadbeat fathers have been discussed in the Salon before. In many cases women choose who they want the father of their child to be. A lot of women choose men that aren't worthy of being fathers. Yes there are cases where men do a 360 and abandon their family, but in most cases from what I have seen the women choose shytty men. My coworker had a miscarriage while she was two months pregnant. While she was going through the pain from the miscarriage the father was nowhere to be found. He is a straight up fukkboy, BUT she chose him. They were in a relationship for a year and some months before she got pregnant. She saw his immature ways over and over and over again. She is still messing around with him and dealing with another whack dude. It is all her fault though.

i agree, but its your job to choose someone responsible. why is that so hard?

At the end of the day it depends on the willingness of both parents to raise their child any man who doesn't want to be in his child's life is scum. If a woman ends up pregnant with the baby of a guy who's too much of a bum to want to raise or even support his child financially then the only real way you could fault her for anything, is if she doesn't request that he pay child support. Regardless of the mans character it will always be his responsibility to raise his kid.
