sorry title should be the most overated way to judge an individual in a team sport.

Besides the obvious that its a team game. There are so many variables.
Take the Bills as the best example. If Norwood makes the FG Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas etc go from "losers" to all out legends. Yet they had nothing to do with it. The stupidity of judging nigggas this way is literally the most illogical thing people think in sports.

Chris Webber should be a first ballot hofamer, hes easily a top ten PF all time, yet hes thought of as a loser and oh he called timeout :lolbron: Meantime if Robert Horry a fuccckin mediocre as niggga that averages 4 points a game doesnt get a lucky bounce and hit a wide open 3, the Kings win and Webber wins even WITH the refs trying to hand the Lakers the series.

So perfect example, from that series Robert Horry is a "winner" and CWebb is a "loser", I mean lets be real, who has a better rep? Horry or Webber? Nigggas was actually arguing Horry should be in the hall of fame? I mean :mindblown:

Baseball its even worse cause the offs are a complete crapshoot. What spawned this thread is Oakland and Beane and "moneyball" (aka what the media thinks sabermetrics is) have worked again. This niggga revamped the entire team and won the division again. But if they dont win it all? "oh moneyball doesnt work in the postseason" :stopitslime:

I actually get your point, but using Horry vs Webber was probably the worst example you could have chosen. One was famous for stepping up in big situations whether it was with the Rockets, Lakers, or Spurs...the other was infamous for crumbling in pressure situations.

I think the only sport where measuring a player's usefulness by championships or playoff series' won is basketball since one player can literally be the difference between being in the lottery or the NBA Finals. However, looking at rings only is still a shytty measurement of athlete success. Context should always be involved.

Ultimately it's about them chips. You play the game to win.

And you gave horrible examples. Kelly shoulda got the Bills closer because 47 yards was actually beyond Norwood's range and any Bills fan from back then can tell you that. Plus he had 59+ minutes before that to lead his team to points.

Horry was a HUGE factor on every championship team. They don't call him Big Shot Bobby for nothing.

While it's not THE most important factor, it is important.

I know nobody thinks Horry is better than Webber but who has a better reputation? You say Horry you think winner. Ok fine, nevermind that he as never even the 2nd best player or close to it on his team. Hes famous for literally like 4 shots. I dont care how clutch they supposedly were, if he was the best player ont he team theyd be in the lottery. Webber meantime was the best player. Even if you take Horry out of it, the general perception of Webber is way lower than it should be because he didnt win a ring.

Huge factor? FOH :childplease:

Vinetari doesnt make an amazing kick in the snow, Brady dont got that first ring. Prob people wouldve said, Brady couldve gotten them closer. Whats the difference? 47 aint some unmakable kick. Its was much more makeable than Vinitearis
