I'm somewhat of a control freak so I don't mind paying all the bills and be the only one working. It just means that the girl will be heavily dependent on me and is less likely to cheat/leave (I have separation anxiety and have dealt with disloyal women many times).

In the traditional family structure everyone has their role. The father/husband goes out to work and brings in the money (thus providing for the family). The wife is supposed to stay home and help the kids with their homework, cook, clean, etc.

But because the economy has gotten worse both parents are pressured into having income. In some situations it's so bad that the kids have to drop out of school to work just so everyone can stay afloat. Now our perception of the ideal family structure has warped.
