:heh:

Coming from someone who's been coaching kids from 4th-6th grade over the past 3 years... that's all these lil rugrats do.

My little sister is 11 and she plays the hell out of videogames.
:ohhh:

Up in Chicago? Is it all tied to school? I am about to conduct a study on this because kids are DEFINITELY not outside more than we used to be when we were younger in NYC. My old blocks these days are looking :flabbynsick:

It's all empty, kids are not setting up hoops anymore...it is a sad sight man.

I live close by a park and I have never heard it as quiet as it has been for like the past 2/3 years. There used to be kids making some kind of noise every night. And I know there is no child shortage out here.

I coached little league baseball and elementary basketball last year.

The kids on the baseball team probably didn't watch any MLB games all year. I used to just think back when I was there age, and I could damn near list off every player on any roster in the league. I played games too, but I was a very active kid and I loved sports, collected cards and everything.

At practice and in some games their attention span wouldn't be there. They would drift off and just talk about session of COD, "oh you can't get as many kills as me" blah blah blah

:snoop:

I was an assistant coach, and the head coach (my boy) didn't have his heart in it and would basically rely on me and my other friend to do damn near everything. After a while I was like fukk it and let them talk about whatever they wanted.

But the kids now are for the most part, in the house watching youtube videos and playing videogames.

Which Park? Its just a depressing site to see man. I am moving this convo to higher learning since this is a thread about video gaming lol.

by Tilden HS, I remember I used to think I was a homebody and I always used to be out there in the mornings or afternoons and there were always plenty there. Now you go out in the evenings and it's such a different vibe and barely as many kids as used to be out in the mornings. :wtf: You don't see kids racing on foot, on bikes, or even the occasional fight.

If the kinds of games I like are still coming out, or if something that I actually like replaces them, than yes.

I'm not interested in the direction the industry is currently taking, and if all this social/motion control/IOS/DLC/Free-to-play crap continues I'll probably stop fukking with games.

But say, in 20 years, if Elders Scrolls 10 comes out, and it's a traditional WRPG, controlled in a way that I find sensible, and is a complete, single player game? Hell yeah I'll cop.

Regarding all the "embarrassment" or whatever, give me a break. The taste of most men aged 35 is pretty similar to boys age 15. There really isn't much of a difference these days. Whose taste is so refined right now that they can't enjoy a good Halo match? Gonna go out and watch Avatar, than turn around and look down at games.

I'm 26 now but I probably stopped playing games at about 23 (and even then it was only occassionally playing 2K). I haven't consistently played games since high school. :yeshrug:

TORONTO!
I cant predict the future :mindblown:

its likely i will, but ive outgrown damn near every genre except fighting games and shooters. i think with the growing popularity and acceptabilty of eSports (competitve gaming for real money), that maybe by then it'll be a viable side venture
