When you take into account the higher caliber bar spitters, no one could throw lyrical darts like the Wu (outside a few NY heads like Nas,P,etc) ... its not that impressive.

How successful where these records, Kanye made hits from weak people rhymefest - brand new, etc.

A lot of Rza's sh1t wasnt even his, that ODB - Brooklyn Zoo track the track we all know and love that beat is not RZA it bodied RZA's original.

Never was Rza the go to guy, Premo and Kanye have both been that go to guy.

I know I do this often and I feel it's justified. So much east coast bias goes into overrating lots of their shyt. Illmatic is prime example. That shyt is not even a top 20 album and people have the nerve to discuss it as THEE BEST ALBUM EVER,doesnt even deserve an honorable mention. Wasnt even the best album in the year it came out. And for the record everytime i say some shyt I MEAN IT,not just saying it to be an ass.
I feel other regions don't get those heavily inflated props. East coast bias haters piss me off. It's like every east coast album that had moderate success gets pumped into the stratosphere of greatness. Where as if it had super success it will get hated on. nikkas actually be in here hating on biggie as if rtd isn't the shyt,as if lad isnt the shyt. WHY!? Cause he sold so much and is talked about and revered so much in the real world,that they wanna bring him down a notch.
Meanwhile they'll pump up ob4cl as if it's even remotely on the same level.
If i said spice 1's self titled album is better than illmatic,ob4cl nikkas would be in a frenzy. But song for song it is. Easily at that.

RZA's run is unmatched. The deciding factor is that none of those albums sound alike. It wasn't the evolution of a sound, it was the evolution PLUS a different sound entirely. If he had did Deck's, U-God's & Masta Killa's albums, this wouldn't even be a contest. Also, look at The Swarm; he did every beat on that except for 2. That is a great display of production.

you have to give credit to the rappers rapping over those beats.

I think think Dr.Dre's run from 88-93 was more impressive including the fact that the west coast was nearly irrelavent before N.W.A. and made Death Row into this 90's verson of Motown after 1 album and made the west coast into this powerhouse back then

they don't,not as much as they seemingly do on the internet or east coast propaganda magazines.. I've never heard a nikka bumpin ob4cl when it was freshly out or later on,honestly. Ice cream vid was poppin though. Never heard anyone bumpin illmatic outside aint hard to tell, life's a bytch.
