Will we ever see a producer have a run like RZA did from 36 chambers...

dont forget that sh1t he did with prince paul as the gravediggaz
i'm pretty sure Prince Paul did all the beats on the first album except 1 or 2. RZA did most of the second album, even tho i haven't listened to it since it dropped (pretty much) i remember it having a very Wu Tang Forever type sound but not as good

The other side, otherwise
I'd put them over rza too. Rza pete rock primo all them east coast nikkas are grossly overrated. Although i'm a fan of work from all of them,i dont think they're as great as people say.
I honestly dont remember ironman,ob4cl, or liquid swords being hot on the streets ever. Maybe in the east but thats it

:beli:

I'm tempted to neg your rep, but I ain't even gonna go there. You deserve to get front kicked for this shyt, though.

man, even if you take wutang's voices out of the commercial, its still more hip-hop than most rap videos today.:to:

:comeon:

from 97-00 he produced these albums in full..

B.G. - It's All on U, Vol. 1
B.G. - It's All On U Vol. 2
Hot Boys - Get It How U Live!
Juvenile - Solja Rags
Big Tymers - How You Luv That
Juvenile - 400 Degreez

B.G. - Chopper City in the Ghetto
Hot Boys - Guerrilla Warfare
Juvenile - Tha G-Code
Lil Wayne - Tha Block Is Hot

from a production standpoint...all those albums were insane breh

and big tymers "i got that work" was like the year after that..

yup. and "i got that work" & "lights out" were probably fresh's best work and they were both in 2000.

i hate talking producers on the internet because people are too close-minded. way too much east coast bias with dre being the token exception because we were taught by the media at a young age that hes supposed to be this undisputed goat. thats the main reason hes not brushed to the side with the rest of the west producers.

but yea, the best string of years put together is between rza, dre, mannie fresh & beats by the pound. i want to say marley marl as well cuz dude is the goat producer imo, but i dont think he had 1 big string of great years like the dudes i mentioned.

:wtf:

No offense breh but you come into every thread that has anything to do with the East Coast sounding like somebody's drunk uncle. "I never heard of that, what I do remember is....". Cut that shyt out.

You know those East Coast rap fans that shyt on other regions for no reason? The ones that people fukking hate? You're that guy, only you aren't from the East Coast, which makes it 100x worse. At least they can use a bullshyt excuse like "I'm from the birthplace of rap, yo".

RZA>>>>. top 3 producer, so versatile and the way he flips samples is just unfukkwithable (what he did with Snakes :wow:)

but about Dre, I've always heard about him getting 'help' producing shyt and I get the impression he hasn't made a beat in years.

but was he getting his beats ghostwritten back in his prime or did that only star up later?

It could happen, sure. But it would have to be some godly piff to defeat RZA's resume. Notice, none of them albums even sound the same. Lots of different styles and shyt, even if there is a similar core.

Then consider how different Forver sounds compared to 36 Chambers. This dude wasn't resting on his laurels, he was getting better erry day all day

If I remember correctly Yella Boy was helping him, but I'm not sure to what extent. Regardless, the main thing that hurts Dre is he has had help. Rza produced everything we're talking about himself.

Gonna get hate for this, but... El-P:

- Company Flow: Funcrusher Plus
- Cannibal Ox: Cold Vein
- El-P: Fantastic Damage
- Mr. Lif: I Phantom (production)
- Cage: Hell's Winter (production)
- El-P: I'll Sleep When You're Dead

Quite a run, if you ask me... :leon:
But, I'll admit, it's an acquired taste. I like it...

El-P did like 5 songs off that album. didn't he?

Hell's Winder wasnt entire produced by El-P either

RZA's run is unmatched. The deciding factor is that none of those albums sound alike. It wasn't the evolution of a sound, it was the evolution PLUS a different sound entirely. If he had did Deck's, U-God's & Masta Killa's albums, this wouldn't even be a contest. Also, look at The Swarm; he did every beat on that except for 2. That is a great display of production.
