:what:
so we gon deny ghe African influence of jambalaya, gumbo, okra, oxtail, yams etc:what:

Look the question of this thread was obviously geared towards black americans. Bunch of caribbeans and Africans coming in here and for what? You guys have your own cuisine, you don't even have a dog in this fight:russ:

didn't I concede that creole food has west african influence in an earlier post? Haven't I said all along that out of all those effected by the diaspora black Americans have retained the least amount of their ancestors cooking methods and adopted far more eurocentric methods compared to Caribbean and South american diaspora descendants? I invite u to read back through the thread.

We're not talking about locations that you visited....We're talking about blacks that grew up post slavery in the states....

I knew you was slow....but not this slow....:sas2:

I'm slow yet you're talking in circles. What are you talking about? Read through the thread and put it together. Not difficult

Stop moving the goal post. All of that is under the banner of African American food and all African influenced. Who cares if its less African than Caribbean cuisine. Still doesn't make it slave food

Lmao moving goal posts? Read back through the fukkin thread. Everything I've said is there. If it makes u feel better to call your food soul food instead of the slave food that it is then so be it. Call it what u like.

Your food is far more Cac influenced. End of story. A person with more Cac blood than black blood is what?

Edit: my bad you'll probably claim him as black

Yo arguing with these African and caribbean dudes on the coli is like arguing with cacs sometimes

Nikka my culture calls it Soul food . My culture as in black American culture, you being African don't have to deal with it if u don't want too. Its that simple. You would get mad if kats called your cuisine primitive/tribalistic etc. So the same applies here

And that is your answer ladies and gentleman....He is separate , and better than American Blacks

Look im not the first black person to call soul food slave food nor will i be the last. I am better than c00ns who will try in every way to Cape for something given to them by white folks even if it's detrimental to your community. your ancestors in Africa did not eat this way. you are adopting the diet of people who are nothing like you which is why blacks are succumbing at worse rates to the negative consequences of such a diet. The western diet is trash breh.

I wouldn't get mad because u people haven't traveled to Ghana or africa, EVER so your conjectures would be received with deep bellied laughs. I've been here for 20 some odd years. I go back and forth. Homies ex girls teammates in college all that. I've seen enough to speak on it breh. You haven't been to Ghana let alone lived there so what do u have to say?

and iv'e been eating taco bell and chipotle for the last ten years as well, and now I have a phd in Mexican cuisine.......:troll:

Nobody gets the gist of a whole cuisine culture just off their friends

As far as Ghana, I have nothing to say. IT IS NOT MY CULTURE. The state of their cuisine is neither here nor there for me. It would be random as fukk of me to insult their food

That's a pretty dumb comparison and compared to others you are quite intelligent for this board. I have lived here for 20 some years breh. Best friends, exes etc I've eaten in their homes, watched food preparation out of curiosity etc. You cannot tell me I cannot comment. I have every right to and if u lived i ghana for 20 years and by extension adopted/experienced different parts of the culture u would have a right to comment. I am speaking from a broad perspective of experience. Living in Chicago, NC.. visiting louisiana to visit my exes peoples etc. (Those are a few) Furthermore, nas cornel west and others are part of your culture and have labeled soul food as slave food. Do u have any contention with them labeling it as such?
