Doesn't matter. What does matter is the OKC has a .833 winning percentage when Russ get a triple double and are .333 when he doesn't. They obviously need his triple doubles. Much more than Cleveland or Houston needs triple doubles from their stars.

Because IF YOU GET YOUR ASS SAT DOWN EARLY WHILE YOU'RE GETTING BLOWN OUT, YOU WON'T GET A TRIPLE-DOUBLE.

Because when the other team MAKES ALL ITS SHOTS, IT IS HARDER TO GET 10 REBOUNDS.


Ya'all are so stupid about this. The Thunder don't "need" Westbrook's triple-doubles, they're meaningless. The difference between Westbrook getting 10 uncontested rebounds from his own teammates and him getting 7 uncontested rebounds from his own teammates is...literally nothing. The difference between Westbrook getting stuck on 8-9 assists and Westbrook passing the last 5 plays of the game to get that 10th assist is...worse than nothing.

If the other team is shooting 50%, then the Thunder are probably going to lose. And there won't be as many easy rebounds to grab. If the other team is shooting 40%, then the Thunder are probably going to win. And there's a lot more rebounds to grab. Plus, there's more plays for Westbrook to grab them because he ain't sitting on the bench for the blowout loss (as has happened 7 times this season). They are NOT winning because Russ gets triple-doubles, Russ is trying to get a triple double nearly every game. It's just that in losses, it's harder for him to pad the stats because the other team been making their shots (so fewer rebounds), his team ain't making theirs (so fewer assists), and he sits early if its a blowout (so fewer everything).


If you really don't have this through your head at this point yet, then answer the question. What do you believe Westbrook is failing to do in the games where he doesn't get a triple-double and they lose. Is he not trying hard enough to get uncontested rebounds? Not passing enough? What is it?

If you can't answer that question, then claiming that the triple-doubles cause wins is idiocy, because you're basically claiming it is inexplicable magic.

Why does praising Harden require shytting on Westbrook. Harden and Bron's look better because their teammates are better. They can be far more efficient and fluid with their effort.
