Nope.

That was the peak of shoe design and it speaks volumes that these same shoes can garner such hype 20 years on amongst a new gen

Nike have an extensive archive but I fear that their innovation is slightly lacking

Their shoes just look cheap as shyt now. Cheap looking material with the swoosh painted on with cheap looking paint. fukkin pitiful

90s had some interesting and awesome color palettes. 00s was awash of the worst fukking ones all over clothing, sports apparel, etc. Just desaturated and dark colors on everything. Crap.

Your avi is fukking hilarious :mjlol:

This boring thing?

Like I said, dude fell off.

They might not be a classic, but they're better than a lot of the abominations Jordan Brand has released since the year 2000

I'm glad they've been retroing a lot of the mid to late 90s Air Maxes over the last few years (just copped some Tailwind IVs)

But I'm not digging these new Air Max silhouettes they come out with, the bubble is way too big.

Nike came back swinging after 2016. In the UK at least Adidas were destroying them for a while, especially when the NMD's dropped. Nike's marketing in the last few years has been :wow: Travis, Virgil, Jerry :ohlawd:
2016 adidas lit a fire under Nike.

adidas Couldn’t keep the wave going

As long as people will continue to pay $200 plus for vintage shoe designs from the 80s and 90s they have no incentive to switch it up.

I don't blame them though, they are riding their cash cow.

2016 Adidas borrowed some flame from nike and it burned out

Adidas took a couple of their old designers but they don't have the nike kitchen brain trust. Adidas learned it's not as simple as getting hot it's staying hot. they not innovative enough to do it. They wanna make a few hits and milk them to death. that said I'm glad they finally stepped up but everything we are wearing silhouette wise today can be found in a nike lab sketch from the 80's. Which should tell you how many designs nike is sitting on.

But i'm still copping some Adidas nite joggers often. One of my fav runners.

Breh you have to look at it from the persepctive of the bench mark of today;

Muiltiple air max shoes.

And for them to do a USA Olympic collection (Pack) - Ahead of their time.

I personally thought that out of their huge catalouge for that year these were commercially their stand out shoes.

Someone mentioned that the designs take inspiration from previous ones, which is true

But what made some of the 90s designs really pop was starting from scratch

Allegedly the 95 was inspired by the human body for instance, and it looke nothing like the Air Max 94s. The official Air Max year models of late just look the same more or less, just with the swoosh in a different place
