Will Google ever fix Google Music and make it into something that's actually useful?

No, it's iTunes fault. When you tag a song in iTunes it doesn't save the tagging to the mp3. It saves it to a separate database. That's been a known problem with iTunes. Use tag&rename to do your mp3 tags if you're planning on using non apple devices. It stores the tags to the mp3 so regardless of what player you use, the tags will show properly.

Then why would Google Music on the browser correctly order the tracks while the Google Music app on my phone plays it out of order?

I thought I did that... is there a way to delete my entire library and start over?

I did the iTunes thing again, but it looked like it was just adding to the music I already had on there...i.e. duplicating some and filling up...

Yes look in settings. I advice u to go through and check out the settings menu

Breh you can keep ignoring everyones advice or you can listen. The problem is iTunes. Google iTunes id3 tags problems and you'll find tons of people asking the same question. Use a real id3 tagging software and youre set. Or you can keep complaining and blame google for problem apple caused.

Not to beat a dead horse, but it wasn't an iTunes issue cuz most of the music I acquire comes pre-tagged with track numbers. I know the issue your describing and I'm not denying its existence, it wasn't the case here tho as evident by the fact that Google Music did it correctly on their browser app, but not in the phone app....both pulling from the cloud. It's a moot point now tho

I just wish the browser version had better sound quality. Youtube videos have better sound than the Google Play player.
