So we're going on what people talk about then? And that' subjective as hell because I don't know a single soul who still talks about Ray or what he did in collateral, minus this website that's it. I know more people who talk about i am legend than both of them. And of course, Mike Lowry and Ali. So what are we measuring this by? What people we know say? what people on a message board say? Or what? Cause if you want to do straw man polls, we can do that all night homie, we can pull imaginary stats out the ass until the cows come home. By that logic, Mike Lowry, Will's role on Fresh Prince, and Agent J are much better acting jobs than anything Jamie has done.

You talking popularity breh. Obviously Will is the superstar. Jamie is the better actor though. Look at the directors hes worked with. I guess hes Cuba Gooding Jr status with that statue in ur book though cause of his last few movies. But Will been making shyt too. Blame hollywood for that. You got ĺike 4 black actors fighting for roles. Will gets most of his cause of his ties to the higher ups imo. He aint that great of an actor. Or rapper.

The real issue is Will wanted creative control over the script and QT aint giving you that shyt. QT worked on that script for years and no way is he gonna let Will come and turn that shyt into some sissy ass love story trying not to offend the big wigs. No reason to bring the situation in Paris into this shyt.

Here is where I get where Will is coming from. Here is where I think he's wrong.

Waltz was around QT when he first started writing Django. So he was an influence in the early stages of how that character will be played. So if Waltz has a say in how his character is played, I think Will can as well. The thing is Will was wanting not just have influence on the character he wanted influence on the story itself and that's just not going to happen with Tarantino. Still it would have been great to see him go at Leo and Jackson. But yea no reason to bring up Django and Paris when you're starring in a movie called "Suicide Squad'

Tarantino said Scott made TR into a realistic fairy tale. Even if it hit all the beats it still was a very different movie than what Tarantino would have done. The difference between that and unlike Natural Born Killers is that it was respectful of the material and also great in its own right (in his mind).

I don't give a damn about some award, I could barely make it through Ray because of Jamie's bad acting in spots. Like the scene when he went to rehab was over-acted and came off fake. I remember laughing in the theater cuz the shyt looked funny.

Nah he's not Cuba status at all but I'm not putting him above Will at all. That's not to say he's not dope but I don't see him on par with Will right now. But again when you want to bring up who's talking about what, then what else is it other than a popularity contest which is why I said bringing straw men into a discussion makes no sense for this. Because you and I can go back and forth all day about who's talking about who and who's talking about what role, etc but what matters is, to quote denzel in training day, what you can prove. Now that gold statue is on his mantle because he did great work, astounding work for a very dope role and no one can take that from him. But having one oscar or not having one doesn't determine one is better than the other. Pacino has ONE oscar, so that means he's only done one oscar worthy performance in his life? He's got one and Spacey has two. Not to shyt on Spacey but is he, over the span of his career, a better actor than Pacino over the span of his? Spacey is dope, but I don't see anything on his resume that rivals the godfather, the godfather 2, dog day afternoon or Serpico

The direction was def. part of it, but the other half was Jamie. Sorry the dude just comes of as corny in most of his serious roles.
