When all is said an done Jamie will have more awards and great roles. Will is done making award movies it seems. That football movie looks garbage imo and when it flops, he'll be back to making Focus movies and BB3. He needs to stick with action movies. Leave the dramatic roles to Jamie to kill.

Kinda doubt he's done making award bait breh. If anything, he seems to be just saying fukk it at this point and just doing whatever. Let's not act like he's ready to retire after suicide squad or whatever he's got in store for bad boys 3. He's got two more projects lined up at least that look like serious dramatic shyt. I don't see Jamie having more awards or more acclaim because Jamie, to me anyway, completely fudged up after his oscar by doing stealth and hasn't been in anything since Ray that really really puts him in contention for any awards. He had the least showy part in Django although he was excellent in it and then did a couple meh joints after: Annie and Horrible bosses 2, and his electro which was meh also. I want them both to do well but I don't see Jamie being so much better than Will at all

And BTW. NO ONE talks about Pursuit, Ali or Seven Pounds years after they released.

People still talk about Ray, Django and Collateral to this day.

THAT'S how great those roles were.

Jamie > Will

End of story.

I'm out to go watch Fargo and Leftovers now. Peace.

And what I'm saying is since he didn't direct it, it wouldn't surprise me if Tony Scott changed some stuff or changed the focus or altered things here and there. I could be wrong though since it's so long ago but it wouldn't surprise me if he did. I just don't see QT as the love story kind of guy through and through, at least not now anyway. I think think every story has to have an emotional entry point and clearly he felt Django's emotional point should be vengeance rather the love story and Will wanted more of that than more of the revenge thriller. But he's been in that mode since Kill Bill
Main thing Tony Scott changed was not killing off Chrisian Slater which QT did not like. He really wanted nothing changed in that script and Scott from my understanding and from Quentins commentary of the SE DVD of TR, is that his script was followed to a T. Peep his commentary.

Will... come on man. Just be truthful and say you didnt want to piss off the cac Jews in Hollywood. Will knows QTs movie and track record. The real issue is Will wanted creative control over the script and QT aint giving you that shyt. QT worked on that script for years and no way is he gonna let Will come and turn that shyt into some sissy ass love story trying not to offend the big wigs. No reason to bring the situation in Paris into this shyt.

So we're going on what people talk about then? And that' subjective as hell because I don't know a single soul who still talks about Ray or what he did in collateral, minus this website that's it. I know more people who talk about i am legend than both of them. And of course, Mike Lowry and Ali. So what are we measuring this by? What people we know say? what people on a message board say? Or what? Cause if you want to do straw man polls, we can do that all night homie, we can pull imaginary stats out the ass until the cows come home. By that logic, Mike Lowry, Will's role on Fresh Prince, and Agent J are much better acting jobs than anything Jamie has done.

Thank God he didn't get it :wow:

Jamie was clearly the better choice. Will would have made it a goofy ass flick

I'm a fan of Will Smith and all, but..

I wouldnt be taking this dude's advice on creative changes :francis:

Sometimes WIll can just be too safe. A love story was what the movie was about :yeshrug:It became vengeance once Schultz messed up the deal.

Tarantino could/should have built up the wife character more, but she looms over the movie instead of being a fully fleshed out character.

They cut out 40 mins of the movie..so I cant get too upset. It was already 3 hrs :manny:

I would have loved to see Will in the role. Would have been interesting to see if he could pull off the subtleness and expressions Jamie did.

This was just :dwillhuh::mjcry:

Not a word said by Jamie, but his expressions tell it all.

Man this looked more like a comedy sketch than some serious shyt. Jamie is not a great actor at all. The only films of his where I felt he did good were Collateral and Law Abiding Citizen.

:jbhmm:But which one has the best actor award?

:umad:

I don't give a damn about some award, I could barely make it through Ray because of Jamie's bad acting in spots. Like the scene when he went to rehab was over-acted and came off fake. I remember laughing in the theater cuz the shyt looked funny.
