Never. Genre isn't respected, if Nolan an A-List director, who had an A-list cast, A-List scriptwriters and A-list production team couldn't do it(whilst removing the "super" from the hero) then no one ever will.

Superhero movies aren't even looking for awards(Oscars) in the first place. Nor do they really need them.

They don't need the oscars. However, if one were to win it would need to be an offkilter one like i dont know Saga or something. Anything from DC or Marvel is going to get looked at through a certain veneer regardless of the talent.


And the notion that the concept of super-heroes makes it hard for some to suspend their disbeleif.

It would be great if someone bought the movie awards from mtv and did it right. that's really the proper platform for the mainstream entertainment movies, not the oscars.

Or at least an nomination? I mean it's general consensus that TDK was snubbed since the Academy decided the next year to reinstate the 10 film field aka "The Dark Knight Rule". I know a lot of people think the AA is a popularity contest but putting that aside, do you see it ever happening? I think the only way it happens is if it's based off of a graphic novel
