AZUMA (MAP) -
- 4 large explorable areas that all represent different seasons
- Main hub city is called Minato and some other places that are currently secret! ;)
KEMONO (Monsters) -
- 20+ at launch in addition to other fauna such as deer and rabbits
- More being added after launch.
- Its rare, but Kemono will fight each other. It isnt clear whether this is just in cutscenes or in the world like turf wars from MH
- All large Kemono have breakable body parts that can be carved separately from the Kemono
- Mid-way through the campaign you will encounter "Mighty Kemono" - high rank versions of the early Kemono (You can switch back to the previous world state at any time from the map if you wish to fight early game Kemono again)
- Smaller Kemono can be captured as pets and give you special rewards via Karakuri enclosures you can build for them.
- You can pet the rabbits!
ENDGAME -
- Post campaign a new Kemono Variant: "Volatile" will appear in the world. Higher difficulty and a few surprises. (More to be announced soon)

- All post-launch content free
- No MTX (micro-transactions) plans
GAME TRIAL - (asked in the same vein as Demo) -
EA Play or Gamepass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play a 10 hour trial starting 13th Feb - contains the starting area only.
QUALITY & PERFORMANCE MODES -
PS5 & XSX - Performance: 1080p / 60fps - Quality 4k / 30fps.
CO-OP & ONLINE/OFFLINE -
- Visitors can interact with your Karakuri (contraptions you can build to aid in the Hunt) and build their own also.
- Only world host has ability to destroy Karakuri that are built.
- Difficulty will scale dynamically depending how many hunters are present.
- You can play completely solo - OFFLINE! (you can pause too!)
- Full cross-play between Consoles and PC
- Can apply a "tag" when hosting a session so other people can find you. Useful for friends and communities - think how Elden Ring does it!
- No cross progression/saves at this time
- No current plans for in-game clans/guilds.
CUSTOMISATION & COMPANIONS -
- NPCs called Tsukumo, little Celestial Karakuri beings that you can bring along with you via your loadout, can be collected along your travels.
- In solo-play they can be chosen to follow you as an A.I companion.
- You can also upgrade them to support you on a hunt in various ways!
- There are 50 in the first zone.
- Essentially Palico with their own abilities and skills.
- You can unlock and craft unique Karakuri in the city to allow you to change your appearance after creation
WEAPONS -
- Currently 8 at launch. Devs feel they are well balanced.
ARMOR -
- You can mix and match armor pieces
- Ornaments can be crafted and added to your armor to add extra personalisation!
- No female armor designs currently. (Presumably a unisexed design for all.)
COMBAT -
- There are status effects and ailments such as being set slight, poisoned, slowed by ice etc. - These can be applied to both Hunters and Kemono
- This can be countered by certain armors that have resistances or by choosing a weapon that has an element that corresponds to a Kemono's elemental weakness
- Bladed Wagasa umbrella seen as more of a 'tank' based parry weapon
- Healing and buffs are baked into the Karakuri contraptions and food systems : you can absolutely have a loadout where you can act as support of the group with healing, defence buffs and bubble shields!
- Final Blow - a super cool animation that finishes the hunt in a rewarding way! The result/rewards screen follows this
