Arekkz preview of the starting weapon, the katana. As I mentioned earlier, these guys are really really good with any game like this that has to do with builds and strategy. I highly recommend them if you've never watched their vids or don't currently follow them. I love this preview for the katana. It looks really easy to pick up and use, but at the same time there are some techniques to master in order to release the maximum potential of the weapon.
There are two things that stuck out and caught my eye from the preview. Two things that heavily remind me of Monster Hunter. The first is the healing. The way the player heals himself, the whole animation, looks almost identical to MH. As well as the breaks in the fight. At one point that rat screams, and then runs off and you have to track it to the next location. Maybe that's just standard fare in "hunting" games like this, but I've only ever played MH and a bit of Dauntless so I don't have a ton of experience in that regard. I'm not knocking this game for it or anything. Just an observation.
I like how elemental powers are used. Setting down a candle and then attacking through it to create a fire attack is pretty nice. I wonder if you could stack effects in some sort of way? Hmmm. I'm definitely intrigued.
