As a former 13+ year dreadhead, this used to always confuse the f*ck outta me too. I’d see other dreadheads with that haircut in the front + dreads in the back and assume just had bad hairlines but noooooo, their sh*ts be lined up super duper crisp…and then 3inches behind the line are their dreads 
I never cared enough about it to ask them why they did it though. Hell, I never even knew anyone personally who did that sh*t
I used to refer to it as ‘the Black man’s mullet’
