He hasn't killed him, that's why. He won't be satisfied until he kills him, that's his ultimate prey. But also in the animal kingdom, it isn't always about size and strength. Wolverine suppresses his animalistic impulses but when he becomes unglued on that berserker shyt, he's up there with Sabretooth and has held his own many a time, and Sabretooth knows he's more than a threat to him.

Because Wolverines existence is the only thing validating Sabretooth, not dissimilar to the Batman and Joker dynamic except one sided.

Basically

Sabretooth's name, or what is believed to be his real name, is Victor Creed.[13] Sabretooth's memories have been tampered with by clandestine organizations such as Weapon X and so much of what appears to be his past is not of credible account.[volume & issue needed] The clearest accounts of Victor's childhood begin with him murdering his brother Luther over a piece of pie.[14] His father then chains him in the basement like an animal and systematically pulls out Victor's elongated canines, which perennially grow back. Victor begs his mother to let him go, but she does not.[14] Years pass until Victor eventually gnaws off his own hand in order to escape the basement and apparently murders his parents.[14] It is, however, later revealed that Sabretooth only killed his father, and took care of his mother financially, visiting her frequently until her death.[15]

Victor is revealed to have had a brother, Saul, and sister, Clara, who are believed to be the reason for Victor's ongoing feud with the X-Men's Wolverine. Saul Creed was a tracker and hunter, while Clara was an animal handler. They helped track down a feral James "Logan" Howlett, the future Wolverine, for a circus.[16] They also helped Logan escape after he was experimented on by Nathaniel Essex, and the three go on the run.[17] Saul perceives Logan to be stealing Clara from him, leading to him tipping Essex off to Logan's location. In the ensuing chaos, Logan accidentally kills Clara, although her healing factor later revives her. Saul Creed, not knowing this, blames Essex for her death, and the two men seek Essex out, Saul Creed revealing that Clara was his sister.[18] Logan however finds out that Saul Creed betrayed them to Essex, and drowns Saul Creed in a potion of Essex's. Horrified by this Clara asks Wolverine to never look for her again. Victor Creed was then informed about his brother's death.[19]

In an early tale, Logan lives in a small community of Blackfoot Indians and settlers. One day, Sabretooth tracks him down in Canada, and seemingly murders his one-time teammate's lover, Silver Fox, on Logan's birthday, after Silver Fox rejects him. In this tale it is indicated that Logan did not have particularly strong feelings for Silver Fox, and that her murder was simply the last straw in a series of grievances he held against Sabretooth.[20] Creed eventually adopts a tradition of tracking Logan down on his birthday with the intention of fighting him.[14]
He also hates that Wolverine suppresses the animal urges that they both have to murder and kill everything moving.

He's basically just a hater that doesn't like that Wolverine has succeeded and constantly redeemed himself in the eyes of the world. They're both killers but Logan has been celebrated as a hero while Sabertooth is looked at as an animal.

But he got his whole psyche rewired recently so he's a hero now too and is trying to right the wrongs that he's done in the past. I'm behind on comics, but Logan died, and the Wolverine that exists now is a Logan from the future where the villains win by tricking Wolverine into murdering all his friends and allies.

That Logan (Old Man Logan) gets transported through time/space to present day and he knows that this eras Wolverine "died" but I don't think he knows that the current Sabertooth is reformed...

More or less everyone is getting it. Dog Logan isn't Sabertooth, they heavily implied that they were the same character in Origin, but have since been proven to be different characters. Dog Logan actually feuded with Logan in the first run of Wolverine and the X-Men.

That said, initially it was like people said, it was a matter of superiority/inferiority complex, but these guys have been at it for over 100 years, its become so personal over the years that the lists for the beef are countless. Its everything from them fukking the same bytch (Mystique) to Sabertooth killing countless of lovers and important people in Logan's life. Creed get kicks off of it at this point, there isn't a beef in comics that's more personal than theirs.
